The Awards

The City of Sydney Business Awards provide an opportunity for Small to Medium Sized Enterprises to market, promote and network within the LGA. These opportunities are open for all participants including local businesses, sponsors, state and local government, Chambers of Commerce, Business Associations and the media.

The awards cater for all business types. This year a new category has been introduced, Fair Trade Business, which is open to all businesses demonstrating high achievement in fair trade practices. There are a total of 24 categories, based on the federal government list of business classifications. In addition there are two special awards: The Lord Mayor’s Sustainable Business Award presented by EnergyAustralia and Business of the Year.

2008 Business Awards

In 2008, more than 300 businesses self-nominated to participate in the Awards, which produced 100 finalists in 25 categories. More than 10,000 votes were cast by the public online and via SMS.
