The Awards
How do the City of Sydney Business Awards work?
- Businesses can be nominated in one of 21 categories spanning Retail, Hospitality, Tourism, Professional Services, and specialist categories.
- Nominate yourself or a member of the public may nominate a business.
- Your businesses receives a unique SMS code to receive votes; votes are also accepted on the website.
- Nominees are given a set of marketing tools to help them get votes from their customers. The nomination and voting period is open until July 30.
- The top vote-getters in each category go through to the finals.
- Finalists complete a business questionnaire that is reviewed by a panel of business experts. Some businesses will receive a visit from a mystery shopper.
- Finalists and Winners have the chance to win their share in prizes worth $25,000.
Who can nominate and vote?
Anyone can nominate or vote for a business via the website or SMS. Plus all voters have the chance to win $1500 cash!

Who can enter?
- Businesses must have fewer than 200 full-time employees and must be located within the 32 suburbs of the City of Sydney Local Government Area. If you are unsure of eligibility, please contact us.
- National chain retail outlets, bank branches, etc., are not eligible.
- Locally owned franchise businesses may enter the Awards.
