About the awards
Whatever your business, there is an award category for you. There are 23 categories, based on the federal government list of business classifications. And there are two special awards: The Lord Mayor's Sustainable Business Award presented by EnergyAustralia and the Business of the Year.
You can find the complete list of Award categories on our website here.
Business Partnership Awards
All nominees are also considered for the Business Partnership/Chamber of Commerce award for your area. These will be judged by your local partnership or chamber leadership, and are based on community participation. Contact your local Business Partnership or Chamber for more information. Contact details can be found on the City of Sydney website by clicking here.
How the Awards work
Nominations: Businesses meeting the criteria may nominate on the website here.
Voting: Nominated business will receive promotional materials to assist with the voting campaign. As in previous years, the public will be invited to vote for their favourite businesses in individual categories. The top four vote getters in each category will be a finalist. Voting starts June 27.
Finalists: You will be notified if you are a finalist and sent a questionnaire to fill out for the judges. Finalists in certain categories will also receive a visit from a mystery shopper. We will also notify you if you are a local Partnership or Chamber finalist.
Judging: A panel of judges will determine the category winners, who will be named at the Awards Dinner.
