Welcome to the 2008 City of Sydney Business Awards. The awards acknowledge the important contribution businesses make to our vibrant city of villages, and celebrate your achievements as business people.

Importantly, these awards also embrace our vision for a green, global and connected city for our future. The awards will demonstrate sustainable business practices and will culminate with a carbon neutral gala awards dinner.

And this year I am awarding a new prize, The Lord Mayor's Sustainable Business Award, to the business with the most comprehensive environmental planning.
